As you exit the Bandaranaike International Airport, a Walauwa Tours & Excursions Representative will greet you and guide you towards a luxury chauffeur driven vehicle which will take you around the country. This representative will be your driver cum guide throughout the tour.

Your Hotel - Early morning, you will depart to Sigiriya. En-route, you will stop at the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage for some one-on-one interaction with the Elephants of Sri Lanka. In the evening, you will visit the ‘Lion’s Rock’ in Sigiriya. This rock climbing activity is do-able and recommended for most tourists as you get to see some beautiful engraved frescoes of the ancient era and also the remnants of a fortress at the top of the rock, not forgetting the tremendous view from the summit. After breakfast the next morning, you will head towards Polonnaruwa after exploring the nearby Dambulla Cave Temple, which contains the most outstanding collection of Buddha sculptures as well as wall and ceiling paintings (one of the highlights of the cultural triangle). Visit Polonnaruwa cultural site the medieval capital of Srilanka, and today it is one of the most beautiful centers of our cultural heritage which remains one of the best planned archaeological relic sites in the country, standing testimony to the discipline and greatness of the kingdom’s first rulers. After morning breakfast, you will reach Kandy, after having visited the Ayurvedic Herbal Gardens on the way. In Kandy, visit the Temple of the Tooth. This is the country’s most important religious shrine, where the sacred tooth of lord Buddha is kept inside a magnificent temple. In the evening enjoy a typical Kandyan dance and drumming performance (a Sri Lankan iconic performing art) complete with performers wearing traditional costumes and fire walks. Have an early breakfast and then visit the Royal Botanical Gardens in Kandy to discover a wide range of fauna including some beautiful orchids. Next, prepare for a three hours drive to N’Eliya (which means “Little England“), a breathtaking journey through narrow passes, through picturesque tea plantations and over gushing streams. On the way you will visit the gorgeous Ramboda waterfalls, visit a Tea factory to see the tea manufacturing process and of course to try and enjoy the original ‘unblended ‘ high grown tea. After morning breakfast we will drive you to the Nanu Oya railway station for the most scenic train journey in Sri Lanka from Nanu Oya to Ella. It is advisable to make your bookings early for this train ride in order to get seats on a good carriage. This train travel through the tea plantations, into the cloudes and then weaves in and out of the many mountain tunnels as it descends to reach Ella. After breakfast the following morning we will drive you to Lipton Seat. It is lookout rivals the views from from world’s End. The Scottish tea baron Sir Thomas Lipton used to survey his burgeoning empire from here. Drive to gorgeous Diyaluma Waterfall with an amazing views on top and possible to take a bath. After the breakfast head towards Yala National Park – your next destination. On the way you can visit Rawana Waterfall, Buduruwagala rock carvings group of 7 colossal standing, rock cut Mahayana Buddhist figure of 51ft is flanked by Buddha figures and Goddess Tara. The figure show traces of their original plaster and paint and are dated between 8th – 10th century AD. Evening safari at Yala National Park ( 2.00 p.m till 6.00 p.m ).
